More pearls of wisdom from Joey Barton

Joey Barton has ripped into Manchester City, insisting his
former club will soon prove him right in moving to Newcastle.
Barton left
Eastlands in order to seek success elsewhere, but it is Sven Goran Eriksson’s
revamped squad who are flying high above The Magpies in third place.
The
controversial midfielder is confident that trend will not continue though,
insisting things are about to come crashing down around a lifeless City dressing
room.
“Sometimes you’d walk in and you could hear a pin drop,” Barton told
The Daily Star.
“It’s lost a lot of characters like Robbie Fowler, Andy
Cole, Ben Thatcher, Nicky Weaver and myself.
“I speak to people still there
and they tell me they have so many languages, there’s no banter now.
“As
well as they’re doing right now, it’s only a matter of time before it comes
slamming to a halt unless they address that.
“(In the Newcastle dressing
room) if anyone speaks talking French or something the gaffer shouts ‘speak
effin English, I don’t want any of that foreign s**t in my dressing
room’.”

-Setanta Sports

Looking back, it seems remarkable that Barton left the club with a large portion of fans feeling quite sad about the whole issue and that he had to left, but from the couple of times he has opened his mouth since leaving, he has surely used up any goodwill that was there.

These latest comments are just plain ridiculous.

I know what kind of dressing room I would prefer at the club, and it involves young, hungry players who want to achieve things and win trophies as opposed to the 'characters likes Robbie Fowler, Andy Cole, Ben Thatcher, Nicky weaver and myself' whose team bonding antics of the past left a lot to be desired.

As for 'banter', I'm sure examples such as using Ousmane Dabo's head for shooting practics and calling your team mates out following a geam was condusive to 'banter' and fostering team spirit.

I think the fact that the interview first appeared in The Daily Star says it all, but a word of advice for Joey - you engineered a move away from the club so do not think you have a right to be able to comment on the goings on this season as you are no part of the success we are currently enjoying.

As for the comments regarding Allardyce's approach in the dressing room - that speaks volumes in itself and we can be thankful that he never made it as our manager.

Elano & Petrov too good for geordies

Newcastle become the latest club to feel the force of Sven Goran Eriksson's blue revoloution.

Despite taking a suprise lead through the impressive Obafemi Martins, Newcastle held the lead for just eight minutes. In reality they were lucky to get eight minutes as a city side clearly high on confidence and with lynchpins's Elano and Petrov, finally looking like they are approaching full fitness, pulling the strings that newcastle could clearly not live with.

Emile Mpenza was the first to trouble the geordies after Shaky Given fluffed a routine clearance.
Martins scored and to be fair the game was in the balance at this stage. Second half was a different matter all together with Elano pulling the strings in the middle and Petrov roasting the Newcastle right back when ever he wanted. Petrov Equalised with a tap in during the first half. Mpenza who had his best game of the season bagged the second straight after half time and Elano finally wound the game up with a goal that all i can say about is watch match of the day. In truth city should have sewn the game up much earlier with chance after chance from petrovs marauding runs down the left.

However that would be nit picking and city where simply too good for fat sams game but limited troops.

On the pitch Petrov and Elano are as close to genuine world class as we have seen in a long time, off the pitch Franks billions and Svens undoubted world class make these happy happy days to be a blue.

Lord Stevens Report : Allardyce, Redknapp and McKay are bent*

Well there's a surprise eh ?

Stevens also confirmed the pope is catholic and bears do indeed shit in the woods.

Nice to good old Willie McKay up to his eyes in it as well, particularly interesting that he registered a race horse in the name of a certain Harry Redknapp. Allthough the real Mr Redknapp never benefitted from it, he said so himself, and you know how the cockney press love the spiv.

Newcastle, Bolton and Chelsea seem to be heart of the enquiry along with Pini Zahavi and the much loved Willie McKay.

From what I have read so far at lot of clubs supporters (particularly) those named and shamed think there clubs will escape punishment. It will be interesting to see what happens and the thing to remember is that clubs that have allowed payments to be made to unlicensed agents have had an advantage over the more scrupulous clubs in the transfer market. Allowing the cheats to potentially prosper.

So expect the FA to do nothing, just ask Sheffield United.

* or have at least been named into an enquiry into corruption.

Allardyce 'Flabbergasted' Over Barton

Well you have to hand it too Fat Sam, his teams might not entertain but he certainly does ! In what can only be described as a joke interview , Allardyce has dragged his huge head into the row between City and Barton stating City are out of order.

Interview in Full

Just a few points Sam :

"They are out of order. This is a private matter, a confidential issue that should not have been made public,"

Your right Sam it is a private matter, so dont go shooting your mouth off to the Manchester Evening News.

"I'm flabbergasted and want the situation resolved"

Not as flabbergasted as I was that the so principled NUFC that sacked Kevin bond for been involved in the bung scandal then appointed who a TV show perpetrated to be the main protagonist.

"I am just trying as Newcastle manager to secure a player of this kind and quality and the deal has been held up"

Fair Point Sam, should have been your only statement on the issue.

"I cannot understand it because City didn't pay anything for this player as he came through the youth system and are selling him for over £5million"

What ? So City believe they are in the right (as does Barton) but they should give him the money because he came through the Youth Team ? Ok Sam.

"It's not really for me to comment. All I know is that this is a matter for Joey to sort out and I hope it is resolved as it has stopped him putting pen to paper."

Your fucking right you alleged bung taking Fat Twat 'ITS NOT FOR YOU TO COMMENT' first bit of sense you have made.

For it what its worth I think Barton will end up with the money, and whilst I was originally a bit disappointed that Barton was leaving, Though he had made his position at the club untenable, Im now glad to see the back of the Chav Scum.

The club and supporters have stood by him through THREE Assaults one on a minor, a couple of FA charges and asking for a transfer on deadline day. In Joeys world we 'owe him' the world 'owes him'

So well done to club for showing Joey Barton up for all that he is. When the PFA / FA or whoever finally make us pay up send the money in a big brown envelope to St James Park FAO Sam Allardyce asking when the hypocrite is going to take legal action against Panorama like he promised and ask him to pass it on too the other hypocrite.

Allardyce steps down

Breaking news from BBC sport:

Sam Allardyce has resigned as manager of Bolton with
immediate effect.
Allardyce has been linked with the manager's role at
Manchester City and refused to attend the press conference after Saturday's 2-2
with Chelsea.
He said: "This has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever
made but it's time for a new exciting era for Bolton under different
leadership."
Chairman Phil Gartside added: "I have reluctantly accepted the
decision. His reasons are private, we respect that."

Allardyce rumours causing problems

Of course, all of this may simply be the result of a number of journos putting two and two together, but the early morning rumours that Sam Allardyce was to quit his position at Bolton at the end of the season certainly sparked a chain of events that left a lot of people none too happy.

As well as quitting Bolton, the story was that Allardyce had some sort of principle agreement in place to take over at City in the summer, and had been given the nod by Ray Ranson that the job if/when his takeover was completed.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside, who undertandably was irked as that it appears as though his highly successful manager was set to move onto pastures new - and to a club he has previously described as not being bigger than Bolton. This has apparantly led to Gartside making a complaint with the current City board over Ranson's actions. The current City board are believed to be unhappy that there name is being dragged into all of this.

Stuart Pearce meanwhile came out fighting in his post match interview, stating that he was the best man for the job and the board were right behind him and he was looking to build further in the summer. Interestingly, in addition he believed that there were 'seven or eight' managers who would go before him.

This could lead to problems for Ray Ranson. It is believed that his bid and plans for the club do not meet with unanimous approval at board level (who seemingly favour one of the American consortiums), and this potential negative press may not endear him to those doubters. Whilst not publicly commenting, stories appeared yesterday which suggested Ranson had not contacted Allardyce regarding the managers post.

On the back of all of this - adding a further twist, there were reports yesterday that the former-Thai PM, Thaksin Shinawatra was set to make a £108 million bid for the club after all, having previously suggesting stories linking him to the club were 'rumours'.

Interestingly, one man who has remained quiet on all of this is Allardyce himself. He did not speak to the press following Bolton's 2-2 draw at Chelsea. If he indeed has told Bolton he will leave at the end of the season then there will certainly be a number of sides interested in his services.

After establishing Bolton in the Premiership and now having them consistently challenge for the European places perhaps he feels he cannot take the side any further, and is ready to take step up in terms of the job challenge and also the potential involved at another club.

I believe we could be the front-runners, although even a quick look at the Premiership table suggests the likes of Newcastle, perhaps even Tottenham as well would be interested.

I remember back to a couple of seasons ago when the first Allardyce rumours surfaced, I was against the idea of Allardyce being in charge - dismissing him as a 'long ball merchant', but for what he has achieved the past couple of seasons shows he is one of the top managers around and crucially, he is able to get the best out of the players he has and can implement a sound game plan. I also believe that as time has progressed and he has brought more quality into Bolton, he has refined their approach a little and they are less reliant on the direct approach.

Whilst it may be all speculation at this point, it does seem there is some substance at least to this story. For me, if Allardyce is available, then regardless of who the ownership group is we should pull out all the stops to get him.

City 0 Villa 2

Time to call Record Breakers as City move into the last home game of the season needing two goals to strip Sunderland of there unwanted record of lowest home scores in the Premier League, the last home game of course against the Sky Sports Reds who should just need a point to secure (not mathematically) the two horse race (think it used to be called the title)

The reason we are looking at this record was on show in all its glory at Eastlands as a determined but limited Villa side created 3 decent chances and took two , we created two good chances and took none.

Both Johnson and Beasley were missing from previous weeks, which prompted Pearce to replace them with Ireland and Samaras. Mpenza also returned from injury. So both sides started with 3 recognised forwards Vassell, Mpenza and Samaras for city. Agbonlahor, Carew and Young for Villa. A free flowing attacking game of football to follow ? Didn't quite pan out that way with both teams effectively playing a 4-5-1 rather than 4-3-3, the pace from both wings along with the heading ability of Carew in the middle giving villa the edge in what was a pretty lacklustre end of season game . Meanwhile our 6ft 4in target man was on the right of midfield, Mpenza struggled on his own in the middle and despite an OK start Vassell faded against his normal rabbits.

And so Villa take the points we don't really move anywhere and its Manu next at home for their title party !!

Earlier in the day reports circulated the Sam Allardyce had announced he would quit Bolton and would be moving to city as part of the Ray Ranson consortium. Given that Ransons bid has been (disgracefully) blackballed by the club surely Big Fat Sam would have the men in white coats coming round as he explains why quit Bolton for a 'maybe' .

A thumping 5-0 against the rags would cheer me up a bit though !! Here come the men in white coats for me.......
