Fantasy football returns

On the heels of last years competition, Bitter and Blue's fantasy league is back. And like last year, apart from the undoubted kudos victory brings, there are no prizes on offer.

The league is hosted at the official site of the Premier League code to enter once you're team is set up is 415288-96841.

A quick note is that all those who participated last year should automatically be enrolled into this years league.

Congratulations go to Tina Clews who takes the fantasy league crown with an impressive total of 2049, just ahead of Phil Clews (related I presume?) with 2022 and Jack Pitt-Brooke in third with 1949.

Following on from last years fantasy competition, here at Bitter and Blue I'll again be running a fantasy league for the forthcoming season.

I have created a league over at the offical Premier League website called 'Bitter and Blue' and the code to join the league is 258385-58414.

Guardian Pick The Score competition

Following on from me setting up the Bitter and Blue 2008/09 Fantasy Football league, I've also created a league over at The Guardian's Pick The Score competition, which (as it sounds) is a simple correct score/result competiton.

Rather than a code to join, it needs an email invite so if anyone is keen for it drop me an email at bitterandblue@hotmail.co.uk and I'll get you set up.

After leading for virtually the whole season, Joseph Millar sees his lead whittled away in the final couple of weeks of the season as AusCam comes up on the outside to take the title at the very last.

Well done Cameron, and sorry there's no prize but hope you're doing well down there.

The man from down under posted a huge weekly score of 147 to edge into second place, but an equally excellent week from Joseph Millar sees him maintain a semi-comfortable lead at the top of the fantasy league standings.

Despite yours truly posting an impressive 202 points to sit in fourth place, it is the top three who are still the only realistic winners and the current race for the title is as follows:

It certainly is getting tight at the top with both clarkywarky and AusCam gaining further ground on Joseph Millar this week to leave things very close indeed.

It's been a while I know since I posted an update up on the league standings, so apologies there, but since I last did, things have tightened up an awful lot at the top and a massive week for clarkywarky has seen Hose's Blumers lead at the top cut to under 100 points.

The top five also sees a change as AusCam returns to the leaderboard, whilst Ritchie's Gambit is a newcomer amongst the leading pack.

Well it's all about me this week as a week scoring 260 points sees me jump into the top five - level with Cameron who also climbs back into the top five.

Modesty aside, and Joseph Millar continues to extend his lead at the top leaving the rest seemingly scrambling for second place barring a spectacularly poor second half of the season.

This is fast becoming the Joseph Millar fantasy league as he is walking away with it at the moment after another huge week saw him stretch his lead to well over 300 points. No new breakers into the top five, but a good week from myself puts me onto the fringes of contention.

Fantasy league update - week 7

If Sven-Goran Eriksson has had the midas touch so far this season, then Joseph Millar mustn't be far off as another high points haul this week sees him extend his lead to over 200 points.

A big week from mrbelfry sees him close in on the top five and Mr Banks tinkering appears to not be paying dividends as slides out of the top ten.
