Adebayor fee agreed

According to guardian.co.uk:

Manchester City are on the verge of completing a deal to sign Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal, the Guardian understands. The two clubs have agreed a fee, believed to be closer to Arsenal's asking price of £25m than City's original offer of £20m, and the striker is in Manchester discussing terms on a five-year contract worth between £150,000-170,000 a week.
Given the pace that this has moved at, it may not be too much of a stretch to suggestion a deal could be completed by the end of today.

UPDATE:

During the Tevez press conference, Mark Hughes admitted that discussions were in progress over Adebayor and it was also reported that he was due to attend a work permit hearing.

vote it up!

To be exact he scored 1 in 5 this EPL season, last season EPL and this season CL he scored 1 in 4. One of the best conversion rates in the EPL, if not the best. Hope he doesnt leave us. To many fake gooners out there.

25 million?!?! is that the price tag or the quote for the amount of times he will be caught offside!!!!

Good luck with the lazy, egotistic codpiece that is Adebarndoor. Utterly useless.

The shame is that when he first arrived at Arsenal he chased and harried for every ball.

Then he got a big £80k pw contract and stopped running and scoring.

What's £150k pw going to do? No prizes for guessing.

Ade is not crap, but not worth £25m... there are MUCH better £25m strikers out there... it is a coup for Man C, as they get a high profile striker from a Top 4 club, but GREAT biz for Arsenal as he was lazy and infuriating last season and most Gooners could not wait to get rid of him... look, he does score some GREAT goals, and ALWAYS scores against the Scum... which we will def miss... personally £16m for Arshavin vs £25m for Ade... no contest! Good luck with him, City... but he will NOT be missed at the Emirates...

Adebaywhore! Adebaywhore!
Hell sell you his bum,
if you offer him more.

Thank God we got rid of that useless mug - he must be the only Arsenal player that has scored that many goals who i have never rated. Too many chances needed, and add to that the fact that hes obviously prone to troublesome episodes.

Was bad for team spirit and 25m is about 15m too much for him so happy happy days - he might get motivated now that he has 150k a week to spend, but city fans be warned - one good season out of him is the best you can hope for, cos hell put his feet up after that.

Good riddance

He's a very fine player. He'd easily be worth £25m if he only he could learn the offside rule.

If Wenger can't teach it to him, how on earth can anyone at Man City?

I think Adebayor had made himself so unpopular with the Arsenal fans, me included, he was on a hiding to nothing if he stayed. I think he'll do a decent job at MCFC and the money being splashed up there is certainly going to make it interesting next season. I think City have a shot at qualifying the CL but it won' be at our expense.

Adebayor scored 16 in 30 starts last season and you are all willing to get rid of him because he is a little bit lazy.

At the end of the day he does his job and scores goals whether lazy or not, if you want to get rid of a player who has scored 1 every 2 games for you then we will take a chance on him for sure.

he scored around 18 goals for arsenal last season which is not to bad and think about the replacement for him chamakh from france who is completely unknown

I think this gives City the best fron tline in the Prem

IM an arsenal fan, this is a really good buy. Arsenal fans are ungrateful to Adebayor, he will make you guys proud if you sign him

Best deal of the transfer window ... great.

Well done Arsene !

Seriously though, you will love Ade he will be good for you this season, until he gets his head turned.

Let's be honest, he is a good striker when he can be bothered. Maybe this is the move he needs to match his ego and have his rear kicked into gear. If you fork out the 25m, I wish you will Man City. It is a good deal for all concerned.
