Manchester City v Nottingham Forest prediction

FA Cup 3rd round time and a home tie against Nottingham Forest - our first encounter against them for some time now. Before last season's disappointing 4th round exit, we had posted successive quarter-final appearances and we should realistically be looking to make a dent on this years competition.

Whilst Forest have struggled in their first season back in The Championship, results have been better of late - but not good enough to save Colin Calderwood's job. Billy Davies has been appointed ahead of tomorrow's game, adding some extra intrigue to a game that should be a comfortable afternoon for us.

Mark Hughes appearing to be treating the tie with a degree of caution, resisting the temptation to make wholesale changes - perhaps wary of early exit in this seasons Carling Cup - so a full strength side should be on show.

Although there should be plenty of Forest fans in attendance, home advantage should be an important factor in this game and I think despite the boost a new manager will provide Forest, we will have enough to see them off.

Prediction. A 3-1 victory and a comfortable progression through to round 4.
