MCFC Supporters Society in Dubai
I received the following email from Dave Hammet, the vice-chairman of the recently formed MCFC Supporters Society in Dubai:
Hi there,
I'm writing on behalf of the newly-formed Dubai Manchester City FC Supporters Society and was wondering if you would be kind enough to give the group a mention on your website.The idea is for all Blues living (or even just holidaying) in Dubai to meet up on a regular basis to watch the boys in action as every single game is to be featured live on TV this coming season.
The society is based at the Player's Lounge bar in the unfortunately-named Chelsea Hotel in the Bur Dubai district of the city and we are currently in negotiations with the bar's management over special food and drink offers for City fans.We have a group set up on the Facebook website (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2417119600&ref=mf) so please sign up if you are interested.

In response to the 'Global Domination' post I said:-
"City still have fans all over the world attracted by the type of football that we played during the decade from 1967 to 1977. I'd love to see many more attracted by the type of football that we play during the next decade."

Thanks for your support. Not quite sure about "Global Domination" just yet though. So far all the members are Mancunian expats living in Dubai, which is very different from the League of Nations approach adopted by the rags' group over here.

Come on David - I converted quite a few Saudis and Phillipinoes to the light side when I was out in Saudi, You just aren't working hard enough! Why not write to Dr Thaksin and see if he'll send you some promotional material out there? Worth a try. Global Domination is only a matter of time!
