Hussein released.
City have decided against extending the contract of Yasser Hussein after just one appearance for us in the Carling Cup.
Having watched his sole appearance at Doncaster, it did look like he would struggle to make any long-term impact on the side. His touch appeared to be decent and he looked fairly comfortable in possession, but he looked far too lightweight for the defensive aspect of the game and didn't threaten enough as an attacking option.
Pearce has evidently seen enough of him in the reserves and in training to judge he will not offer anything different to the players already in the squad and it does seem the right decision to release him, with him joining the ranks of the City 'one game wonders'.
