Etuhu joins Cardiff on loan

As confirmed by the Cardiff official site.

Etuhu has plenty of promise, but, similarly to the likes of Ishmael Miller, and more recently Ched Evans before him, the Championship is ultimately the probable level for him. A good move for both parties though, as his options will be limited this season (particularly now Vladimir Weiss has moved ahead of him in the pecking order), but it will be a chance for him to get a full season of regular action behind him.

The piece suggests that Cardiff beat off Wolves and Portsmouth for the signing. This I can't really understand, as surely a better test of where he stands would be to send him out to a Premier League side?

Schmeichel returns from loan spell

Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel has returned to
Manchester City following his loan spell at Cardiff.
The 21-year-old Dane
made 14 appearances in the Coca-Cola Championship for the Bluebirds but turned
down the chance to stay on for two further league matches.
Schmeichel would
have been unavailable for Saturday's FA Cup third round clash away to Chasetown
under the terms of his loan agreement.
The shot-stopper began the season as
first choice at City, but lost his place in manager Sven Goran Eriksson's first
XI.
Joe Hart has since enjoyed an impressive run in the City first-team and
Schmeichel will face a tough task to force a place in the starting
line-up.

Not being one to normally speculate or comment on any old transfer rumour (would Birmingham really pay nigh on £3million for Samaras?) but could this decision possibly be as a result of an impending move for Andreas Isaksson?

Schmeichel set for Cardiff

Cardiff City are on the brink of signing Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel on a one-month loan deal.

Officials of the Premier League club have confirmed the move is '95 per cent done' with just the final stages of paperwork to complete.

The young Dane, who signed a new four-year contract with City in the summer, will go straight into the Cardiff squad for Saturday's match against Scunthorpe.

Schmeichel had been due to join Coventry but that deal collapsed earlier this week due to the club's financial problems, which have led to a transfer embargo from the FA. -Sky Sports.

Far from giving up on Schmeichel, Eriksson claims the move was designed to give him more games, but is still a big drop from occupying the number 1 shirt a few weeks ago to effectively slip down to third in the pecking order thanks to the performances of Joe Hart and return to fitness of Andreas Isaksson.

Sinclair signs for Cardiff

FORMER City midfielder Trevor Sinclair has signed for
Cardiff.The 34-year-old, who joined City in 2003, had held talks with Stoke but
has already joined up with the Bluebirds in their training camp in
Portugal.

There had been talk of Sinclair joining Stoke but opted for a move to Cardiff and will link up with former-City colleague Willo Flood, whilst there has been talk of Robbie Fowler perhaps joining the Welsh side as well.
