Scunthorpe drawn in Carling Cup

The draw earlier today handed us a home tie in round 4 of the Carling Cup against Scunthorpe, and really we couldn't have wished for an easier tie as a route into the quarter-finals.

The last sixteen is dominated by Premier League sides, with most from the upper reaches still involved. The full draw is as follows:

Blackburn Rovers v Peterborough United

Manchester City v Scunthorpe United

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton

Barnsley v Manchester United

Chelsea v Bolton Wanderers

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Arsenal v Liverpool

Portsmouth v Stoke City

Our last meeting with Scunthorpe came over three yea.rs ago with a 3-1 victory in round 3 of the FA Cup in January 2006.

vote it up!

You say easier but don't be suprised if we beat you and knock you off your high horse... You will never be as good as Man United

As a response to the only anon, but obviously a Scud, your right. No City fan will be surprised if you beat us. As to our high horse, there is no such thing, "High Horse" is reserved for Man UTD and Chelsea, who believe at the start of every game they have a devine right to win. To be fair the Arse and Liverpool still know they have to work to be good, and so do City. We don't expect we dream.

But as regards your "never be good as" well, do us a favour, we have been better and will be better.

Shame you can't think it might happen for Scunthorpe. I was at Wembley 10 years ago at that famous game, and we dreamed we would be better. Well we are here now, dream on.
