Gelson looking for a chance
Whilst his opening season was a good one with us, 2008/09 seemed to see Gelson Fernandes move from bright young prospect to official boo-boy. He was unfortunate in some respects as opportunities were limited once Hughes added Vincent Kompany, and latterly Nigel de Jong but his play hardly enamoured him to the masses. With the addition of Gareth Barry and return to fitness of Michael Johnson it is difficult to see where he does now fit into the side. Rather than cast him off at this relative early stage in his career, would a wiser decision though to try and loan him out in the Premier League for 2009/10 to able to assess him and his progress at closer quarters?"It is going to be a big year for me. I will not be looking to sit on the bench all the time," said the 22-year-old. I am aware that it is a squad game but I need to play."

i like his effort and his energy, maybe a loan won't help him, as he would have to come back when the squad is even stronger.
He is a really really bad player. Not his fault we bought him but let's do the best thing for him and City...
