Transfer deadline day - 6 hours to go

It seems as though Jo's move to Everton will go through, with Sky Sports News stating he is set to arrive at Goodison Park to complete a move.

Michael Johnson's name has cropped up again, with Sky Sports News suggesting that Newcastle have lodged a bid for the player, with Johnson apparantly keen on the move:

Skysports.com understands that Johnson is very much
open to the idea heading to the North East and Newcastle are hopeful they can
conclude a deal before the 5pm deadline.
City value Johnson highly, but
Newcastle are believed to be offering around £8million and they are confident
that will be enough for City to sell.

This would be a terrible move for me. Surely Johnson has shown enough already and promises far too much to cut ties with him so soon.

Nothing further regarding Roque Santa Cruz, but I still maintain this one will go through, most likely Blackburn currently working on a deal to land a replacement.

vote it up!

His attitude and willingness to get back to full fitness have been regularly questioned and his life style have all come under focus too. £8 million would be a good deal (Hughes has budgets too whther you understand that or not) and this could be another Joey Barton ready to blow up in our faces. Get rid now and we will see more players with a professional attitude brought in and the wasters and big time Charlies shown the door.

I think the Johnson thing is really difficult to judge. He looks like a very promising player but its what goes on behind the scenes that seems to be the issue here. I think we have to trust the Manager on this one.

As for Blackburn needing a replacement for RSC why dont we loan them Vassell, Benjani, Jo, Caicedo and Evans for the rest of the season? Even Sturridge if they are realy fussy (although we must get him back). That way they get 6 new strikers to choose from and we get the one we want in return.
