Like many of you, I have been baffled by some of Mark's tactics this year. So, to give credit where credit is due, I think he got the tactics spot on, today.
The decision to put Pablo in central midfield was obviously a master stroke. He was the ball winner we've been missing, partnering with Kompany.
Then, with Dunn being sent off, the decision to move Kompany back into central defense rather than bringing Richards inside and Pablo back to right back paid off in two ways: 1) with Kompany winning many headers on the inevitable number of crosses we were going to see, and 2) Azalea continuing to win the ball back in midfield.
Cheers to Sparky on this day!
And finally, a win where we showed professionalism in seeing out the game when we knew it had to be lest than pretty.
Ah well, I hoped it was! Suppose we gonna have to wait for him to jet in on Monday.
What do you think of Kaka's behaviour after the match tonight..err. last night. Shaking hands with his team mates etc. a sign he's leaving and coming our way?
