Striking woes

Premier League goals scored by Robinho - 8.

Premier League goals scored by Jo, Sturridge, Vassell, Evans and Benjani combined - 4.

Given that Ireland has netted six times and both Wright-Phillips and Elano three apiece, it largely has glossed over the fact that we are one of the top scorers in the Premier League despite, rather than because of the strikers at our disposal, and the performance against PSG illustrated this perfectly where without this midfield support we could struggle for goals.

Numbers (in terms of personnel) are clearly not a problem, but real quality is. There has been plenty of talk about who may be arriving in January but high on Hughes's list must surely be someone who has a presence in attack and is capable of scoring twenty goals a season.

vote it up!

To be fair all the strikers u listed have not been regulary playing in the team and when they have played there is a couple that havnt played in thier correct position so its a little unfair to them, but i do think we need a class striker saying that we have needed one for a few years now im not sure if we are just a strikers graveyard. We need to aspire to the way this hurts but the way uniteds front line play there movement up front was unbelieveable at times against us but to get that first you need good forwards we will have to wait and see and hope fully we wont buy roque he done nothing this season so dont know why so many city fans are keen on him but if we do sign him i hope he proves me wrong and bangs them in.
