City 2 Liverpool 3 - player ratings

Hart - Not particularly tested, but could have been stronger on Torres's second goal. 6.

Zabaleta - Solid enough. Perhaps unlucky with the sending off as it was more deserving of a yellow. 6.

Garrido - Great strike for the free-kick, but beaten far too often. 6.

Dunne - An impressive display. Threw his body on the line. 7.

Richards - A strong performance, but allowed Torres to escape for Liverpool's second. 7.

Kompany - Neat and tidy once again. 7.

Elano - Played some excellent balls, but struggled as Liverpool gained the asecndancy. 6.

Ireland - Good first half, but like many was not involved enough after the break. 7.

Wright-Phillips - Some good movement and effective runs, but wasteful in possession too often. 6.

Robinho - Bright and bubbly, but a bruising afternoon and did not receive enough protection. 7.

Jo - Held the ball up well, but not enough play where it really mattered. 6.

Subs:

Gelson - Out of position and over whelmed late on. 5.

Evans - A willing runner but little effect. 6.

Petrov - Not really in the game. 6.

How can SWP only get a 6 the same as Petrov... SWP did not stop running yesterday and caused them as many problems as anybody else.

Also thought Elano worked harder than i have seen him before.. and some of his ball retention skills were 1st class...

therefore..

I think Elano was perhaps a victim of the role he was playing, and thought Hughes should have brought on Hamman when Liverpool scored their first goal.

As for Wright-Phillips, yes, his runs and movement were good (which I acknowledged) but time and again I thought his distribution was not good enough.

To be fair to him though, he was not alone and too often we were guilty of carelesness with the ball.

Danny, how can you say that Zabaleta was unlucky to be sent off. It was a disgraceful challenge, and one that i think should be punished further.

I was also at the game yesterday, and thought City were awful in the second half, City seemed scared of Liverpool, maybe they have good reason to be, as Liverpool seemed to cut through City with serious ease.

On another note, seeing City fans punch the chairs around them in frustration only enhances my believe that City are a mile away from the team the fans think they are, and they are in for a long road to break into the top four.

And finally.... poor Robinho, City fans turning on him already. Taxi to Chel$ea me thinks...
