Sell out
All summer long, and particularly with the pursuit of Ronaldinho, Thaksin sought the kind of blockbuster, impact signing that would fill the missing few thousand seats and see the ‘Full House’ signs put back up.
Ironic then that the first game in the post-Thaksin era is now a sell out and potentially a record crowd for Eastlands, with the international break and our next opponents (Chelsea) adding to the hype surrounding the takeover and addition of Robinho (not to mention Shaun Wright-Phillips of course).
Far too early of course to be accused of having gained a number of new fans hitching themselves to the bandwagon, more likely there will be plenty coming back into the fold who were disillusioned with how things have gone on the pitch over the past few years, or those disaffected because of Thaksin’s association with the club.
It should make for a cracking atmosphere on Saturday, and once the inevitable England inquisitions have died down, expect the hype to be cranked up by the media.

Oi, I am a Yank from the Pacific Northwest (Washington state). I got introduced to the (Sky) Blues by a coworker of mine. He is a Mancurian. Born and raised there. I have played footie since I was 7 and am 44 now. As a footie fan, I had always liked Andy Cole where ever he was playing and low and behold, he was wearing the sky blue that season. I was hooked in by Psycho's intensity and the general Underdog theme of the team. I have been a loyal fan since. I know it isn't very long but give me a chance. This buy-out is a watershed moment for Eastlands. To hell with the folks saying it is going to ruin the game. No one was saying Liverpool was ruining it when they were racking up all of those years of trophy hording and their rich owners... Was anyone saying ManU'er was ruining the game with their cash? I know some said that Chelski were, with all of Abromavich's money, buying players that made no sense for the squad they had... Anyway, it is the Blues chance to build a good, solid team. Try to keep out the ego maniacs. Don't give up on the youth system (No matter how much we like to hate the red side, they have built a trophy machine based on good solid star players AND have thrown in a fair amount of home grown youth talent from their academy). Eastlands academy has proven they are churning out quality. Let's not spend just to spend. Let's spend smart and keep bringing up our youth into the first team..... Go blues!
