Derby prediction

First home game of the season on the back of an impressive opening day win and we should be capable of banishing the memory of last seasons home offerings - and more importantly actually hitting the net.

I didn't see any of Derby's 2-2 draw with Portsmouth, but I imagine they will fall into the chippy, resillient, give 100% type of team that comes up from the Championship.

Most Blues will be expecting the three points ahead of a certain game on Sunday, and I am no different. Derby may be a tough opponent but based on Saturday we will have enough craft, creativity and firepower to get past a visiting side - and when was the last time we could say that?

Prediction: City 2 Derby 1.

vote it up!

Depends on how early we can unlock their defence...if we can get a goal in the first 15 - 20 mins, then it could be a glut as Derby will then have to open up to try to get back in the match and we will be able to pick them off ala West Ham, but until we do get the goal, I don't expect Derby to be anything else but ultra defensive

An addition to my last comment, I also expect Derby to do a Billy Davies type of display, which will include fouling and time wasting, but if, god forbid they happen to get ahead of us, expect also his favourite tactics of when there are multiple balls, throwing another ball on to get the game stopped so that all the other balls can be collected and making sure that a player about to be substituted ensures he is at the furthest part of the pitch to waste time coming off...

Without Looney and Ronald McDonald, there's not better opportunity for City. I predict 2-1 to City.
