Barton suspended for remainder of season

According to BBC Sport, Joey Barton has been suspended by City for the remainder of the season as a result of a bust up Tuesday at Carrington. Barton is alleged to have hit Ousmane Dabo, who went to hospital for injuries to his mouth.

City have yet to publicly announce the suspension, while Barton's agent Willie McKay is downplaying the incident and claiming that Joey was defending himself.

Don't suppose that the penalty got mentioned? Why suspend Joey? Every club shoots itself in the foot at times, but why do we have to do it with a machine gun? Joey needs to control his temper - yes. But banning him for smacking the biggest waste of space we've got?

Sounds like Joey is as pissed off as me, but he actually got the chance to do something about it. Rags next week -GREAT move Psycho.

Joey Barton has this season been our best player in a poor team. He has an arrogant, childish attitude and has let City down too many times.
The sooner we get rid of the over-rated scouse scumbag the better.
