City And Two Jobs Pearce On The Brink

City -0 Wigan - 1 (Folan 18)

The storm clouds gather over Eastlands after city's 4th straight premier league defeat, brought about by Caleb Folans (another player we supposedly looked at) header in the 18th minute which in truth could have been Wigans third as city left their legs (and minds) in Dubai with an opening 20-30 minutes that brought two words to mind .... Frank Clark...
The man charged with motivating our players of course is the man who replaced Clark at Forest, Our very own England patriot Mr kick every ball Stuart ' psycho' Pearce.

To todays game first , as already stated Wigan could quite easily have been 2 or 3 up by the time Folan took advantage of Nicky Weavers hesitation to loop in an unchallenged header after 18 mins of wigan of domination. You can blame the players for not tracking Folan after the initial header looped up in the box but Weavers one step forward one step back indecisiveness was the killer had he come he would have got a block , had he stayed would have been a routine catch on the line.

To lay the blame for the defeat at Weavers door would be harsh as nobody except Michael Ball emerged with any credit. Stuart Pearce described it in his post match interview as been bullied, I call it a complete unwilling less to compete aligned with the fact that players seemed to be totally clueless as to what formation , who was picking up who and what the game plan was. Either that or they are playing to get Pearce sacked.

You could point to the fact that after the opening half hour we gave it a good go, but in truth we created nothing , despite Filan dropping everything that came his way in the first half. Which pretty much sums up the whole season , OK at the back but if we concede first we are F****d.

Heard a few Pearce out chants after the game outside the glass frontage on the Colin Bell Stand, I would make him stay until the end of the season, he got us into this mess there is no way he is slinking of to the U21's without another major black mark on his managerial record. We should however be looking to replace him in the summer whatever happens, quite simply the guy has been measured and come up short.

The relegation battle starts here.

vote it up!

The relegation battle started a long time ago. Keeping Pearce is not an option. I don't think the players are consciously playing to get Pearce sacked but subconsciously...

Alan Curbishley may soon be availible but I wouldn't touch him......The way Pardew has Charlton playing they will overtake us so we better hope either Fulham or Sheffiled United hit some real bad form otherwise we maybe going down.

Shocking display. For me, if the strategy against Wigan (WIGAN!!!!!!) is to play the ball way up the field (up and over the midfield) don't you need two fwds who can hold the ball up just once in ninety mins? Beasley's worst game easy - he shows true quality on occasion but too infrequently for this level given his other limitations. Never seen Weaver so poor. Ireland invisible. I thought Barton was very consistent on his corners/set pieces but too little else. Pearce out. No progress - potentially deserving of a ticket to the Championship. U-21 debacle. Easy decision.

As an American fan the regression of Beasley and Landon Donovan over the past 4 years or so as international footballers has been depressing and Beasley's inconsistency and constant visits to the physio should get him a ticket out of Eastlands, but the problem is we don't have any one else that can play ont he left side effectively. Riera and Mustampa were both wastes and at
least Beasley has some quality.

Another note.....as solid as Richard Dunne has been for us the past several seasons this year he has made more errors than I ever recall him making collectively. The same for Distin for that matter. Our whole club is falling apart I fear.

10 days w/out a game /resting in Dubai and then an unexplainable 1st half, lack of pride to wear the shirt. Sorry, is there really no one capable of taking or atleast varying the corner kicks besides Barton.Perhaps it is in his contract to take all free kicks/and corners.Good to see Jihai shouting and "that "tackle with Jackson!

If we dont score in the first 20 mins.. then we dont score..we need 3 wins and couple of draws to be sure, whether we get them remains to be seen.I would like to see Pearce sacked immediately and Bobby Robson brought in till summer..steady the ship, and get the strikers firing.

before the game i went along to platt lane to watch the under 18s and a few of them would do better than the first team ched evans is agood striker who can score goals create goals and hold the ball up now if any one can name a first team player who can do that please post a comment by the way anyone at the game would have seen evans get presented with a welsh under 21s cap at half time so if we have an international goal scorer on the books why not play him

Two Jobs has got to go right now. I don't care about the FA Cup, but get rid of this idiot on Monday and spend the next week getting in a manager with some idea of how to motivate and organise players. Frankly nobody (except Wigley) could so a worse job. They looked like they'd been to different resorts in Dubai rather that a training camp. The way things are going we will be relegated in our last home game and that would be a nightmare come true! PEARCE OUT NOW.

Pearce said we are in the botton eight!!The guy gets more and more inept as the weeks wear on.If (and probably when) we get relagated he will just piss off to become U21 Coach.Got to get rid now. How about George Graham- pay him a bundle just to keep us up.

This is the worst time i can ever remember watching city.
Pierce is ripping the heart out of our wonderful club..In fact i write football but is not football as in what you see played by others.Take Reading three down against the rags...what a great show of backbone, they passed it about, ran for each other, went forward in numbers and nearly did it.They didn't but that didn't matter,it was seat edge stuff instead of the turgid crap we see at City week in week out.
Like last year a cup run is deflecting the truth that Pierce is clueless.10,000 people now find somethig better to do on a match day and most of he North East blues aren't renewing just like my Dad and Uncle who sit alongside me.
Man for man they are a decent squad but they cant pass it to save their lives, have no system and obviously cant score.
Our leader has sold every single player with even the slightest hint of goal scoring quality.
It says how bad it is when you long for a Musampa or a French Tony.Even Riera's sweet left foot would be an absolute delight right now.
I've never heard a city crowd boo well before the whistle.City fans dont expect a lot but we expect more than this.
