City slip in football 'rich list'.
It was in the news this week that we have slipped one place to seventeenth in the football 'rich list' in terms of total income generated. The list concentrates solely on day-to-day income from football business such as ticket sales, merchandising and broadcast revenues and does not take into account the cost of wages or transfer fees.
Seeing us in the top twenty ahead of some big sides in other European countries, despite us not having Champions League or UEFA Cup qualification money merely illustrates the amount of money that the Premiership can generate from TV income, but also importantly the amount of income the club generates from a consistent fan base week in week out - ironic considering this week has seen much discussion on this site and beyond regarding the clubs treatment of fans.
